Pay attention to the ice situation when heading to Selkä-Sarvi in winter. There is no marked trail to the island, take a map and compass with you. In winter, Selkä-Sarvi is reached from the west side of the Tornio shipping channel, close to Finland/Sweden border. A good starting point in winter is Prännärinniemi's rest stop in Röyttä, Tornio. When skiing, the distance to Selkä-Sarvi is slightly less than 20 km.
