At the beginning of 2016, the old fisheries management fee and regional lure fishing fees were replaced by a new fisheries management fee. Payment of the new fisheries management fee permits you to fish with a single rod in all water areas to which the old region-specific fees gave access. You must pay the fisheries management fee if you are aged between 18 and 64, however not for ice fishing or hook-and-line fishing. A fisheries management fee of EUR 45 covers the entire calendar year (January till December). The fee is EUR 15 for seven days, and EUR 6 for 24 hours. The validity of a seven-day fisheries management fee expires at midnight at the end of the seventh day. A 24-hour fee is valid until midnight on its selected start date. The fisheries management fee does not give you access to fishing in all waters: protected water areas, special areas in which a site-specific permit is required, and running waters with rich salmonid or whitefish populations are excluded. A separate permit is also needed for trolling with several rods. Additionally, you must pay the fisheries management fee if you are aged between 18 and 64 and intended to fish by trapping or trolling.
